trip to the dentist in my future

yesterday i had a pain start up in my left upper jaw area. this morning i woke up with a pretty serious dull ache in the left side of my face. a headache, basically. looks like i'm in for a trip to the dentist - proly an oral surgeon.
i noticed an extra sensitivity to heat and cold in my upper left back molar about a month ago. that's what prompted me to finally go back to the dentist for a visit. at the time, nothing seemed imminent and we decided to put things off until they got worse. looks like i'm there now.
not sure what this will mean (it's not like i got a rotten tooth in there) but i'm sure it won't be very pleasant.
