a clean start

i've spent the last few days in a major cleaning binge. desk, bookshelves, entire home workspace cleaned up nicely. looks good feels great.
i also got a new 160GB hard drive and have a new 22 inch wide-screen LCD monitor on the way. finally, jesse and i picked up a new HP4385 wireless printer/scanner/copier today. i'm going to ditch my old HP540 Desk Jet (after close to nine years!). rest of the family is relieved, i'm a bit sad.
lastly, i need to do some serious backup for both my workstation and my laptop. then get ready to nuke and pave them both. will be quite a chore. nothing i'll get done immediately, but soon.
2008, here i come!
